Champion Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by its members. We are the most financially-sound credit union in Western North Carolina and serve the residents of Haywood County, Buncombe County, Henderson County, Swain County, Madison County, Jackson County, and Graham County.

In addition to individual members, Champion Credit Union also offers the benefit of credit union membership to the employees of a number of business partner companies in this 7-county region of Western North Carolina. Businesses like to offer the benefit of Champion Credit Union membership to their employees because it offers those employees the opportunity to receive exceptional financial services and guidance.

Champion Credit Union was founded in 1932, so we have almost a century of providing competitive and comprehensive financial services for our members.

Champion Credit Union offers virtually all financial products and services offered by for-profit financial institutions such as banks – but because we are owned by our members, we return any profits to those members in the forms of higher dividend rates on deposits, lower rates on loans, and many free or lower-cost services.

In addition to traditional financial products such as mortgages, checking, auto loans, Certificate Accounts, and Individual Retirement Accounts, Champion Credit Union members also can take advantage of financial services such as online home banking and bill payment, mobile banking, Visa® credit cards with or without Rewards and debit cards, equity lines of credit, and much more. We also offer programs to help members establish credit, refinance higher-rate loans to more competitive rates, and “stay warm” in the winter with our Stay Warm heating fuel loan program.

Champion Credit Union provides special services and programs for our community’s seniors, youth, and Hispanic population, and we have Spanish-speaking staff at each of our three branch offices.

Our headquarters is located at 1 Academy Street in Canton. We have a second branch office in Clyde and a third branch office in Arden.
